Hydropower

Hydro power systems use running water to turn a small turbine which generates electricity. The faster the water flows and the more water there is, the more electricity can be generated. The amount of electricity a system actually generates depends on how efficiently it converts the power of the moving water into electrical power.

Ask us for a survey of the river/stream you have in mind. We can assess its potential by measuring the flow and “head” of the water, and we will estimate for you the costs associated. Installing hydro power is more complicated than installing solar PV technologies because certain “permissions” need to be granted, but remember that, unlike the solar power options, the Feed In Tariff payments on hydro do not stop at night!
